We stayed at this farmhouse for 3 days as we explored hill towns in the Siena area. It is a lovely location in the countryside with nice amenities for relaxation. A beautiful pool area provides an opportunity for some down time if you have been on a hectic road trip, and it's always nice to be greeted by a couple of friendly dogs. The rooms are clean and quiet and ours had french doors opening onto a grassy area with table and chairs. We were particularly appreciative to be able to use the washing machine. But the real highlight of our stay here was the food. The owners cook dinner a few times a week and you don't want to miss the opportunity to enjoy their authentic, delicious Tuscan cooking. We had lasagna one night that we dream about. The guests gather together in the cozy dining room and it's fun to get acquainted with the other travelers while enjoying a memorable meal. The owners are gracious and delightful and do everything they can to make your stay comfortable. The farmhouse is located out a long gravel road and might be hard to find at night. But once you are familiar with the location, it is an easy 15 minute drive to Siena. We also explored San Gimignano and Volterra on a day trip from this location.

Our decision to stay at Il Canto Del Sole was based upon the many Tripadvisor reviews and I have to say our expectations were surpassed! The property is beautiful and the surrounding area stunning. The property is very convenient for transportation, whether by car or bus. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Our children especially enjoyed the grounds and the animals. Luna and Alba are some of the most gentle and patient dogs I've met. The breakfasts where very good and the evening meals cooked by Laura were amazing! We were very excited to try the local wines and were delighted to discover that Luciano offers wines from Chianti, Montepulciano and of course Brunello for sale. Not only are a great deal, but a time saver! What better way to get the best value for your money than to have the choice of wines hand selected by a local! However, what truly sets Il Canto del Sole apart is the graciousness of Luciano and Laura. More than hosts, they welcome their guests with a warmth and sincerity that I've previously only experienced when staying with friends. Thank you Luciano and Laura, for sharing your piece of tuscan paradise with us!

We spent six wonderful days here. The farm is very private and quiet. The rooms were roomy, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The best breakfasts of our whole trip. We also had two wonderful dinners here, a real taste of Tuscany. A great home base for all of Tuscany. Luciano provided us information on great day trips to towns and sites we would never have found on our own. We felt like we were visiting family. We would go back in a minute. Paul, Jill & Ron, June

We just came from another B&B that we did not care for, and this place was a breath of fresh air! It was wonderful from the moment we pulled-up: it is beautiful, and we loved that they had animals. The rooms were a good size and very clean. The couple was so welcoming and fun. I highly recommend joining them for dinner if they are preparing it: it was one of our best meals in Italy. He also has wines there to purchase. We had a great time and we were sad that it was only for one night.

My husband and I stayed at Il Canto del Sole in October 2010. We loved coming back from sight seeing the hill towns to just relax and sit on the vernada while watching a quiet, peaceful sunset. The sunrises were also amazing! We spent three nights and would have loved to have more time. The owners were very friendly and the food the one night they cooked was delicious. We highly recommend having a GPS for getting around...we joke that we'd still be in Tuscany if it wasn't for our GPS!
