We just returned from 16 days in Italy and 5 nights at the Il Canto Del Sole B&B (and farm). While the location (about 6 miles south of Siena) is superb for day trips anywhere in Tuscany and Umbria, it is warmth of it's hosts that made a lasting impression on the four of us in our group. Laura and Luciano bent over backwards for us during our stay there. The grounds and the countryside are fabulous. They had a play area for children (well away from the rooms) and we had use of a washer and dryer which was perfect since we were traveling with carry-ons only (best move ever - too many stairs everywhere). This place will only work for those that have rented a car since you are outside the city, but if you want to see the real Tuscany I would suggest a car anyways. We stayed in the newer building adjacent to the saltwater swimming pool. Each room was HUGE and very well maintained. Since we had booked 2 rooms we had use of the entry/common room that connects the two of them to the outside. This room had a table and chairs it's own access outside to the patio area, and kitchenette. Each room also had a door that led to a canopied patio which had nice landscaping seperating from the pool so it was very private. The rooms where we stayed had air conditioning - very quite and with remote contol, TV, mini fridge armoire, chest of drawers, and a private bathroom. If you like firm beds you are going to love this place. The bathrooms had a spacious shower (by European standards) and very modern fixtures. If you book here make sure you ask which night(s) Laura may be cooking - we made sure we were there, and it was the best meal we had in our 16 days in Italy bar none. It also helped that it was my 54th birthday and they went to the trouble of adding a personalized cake to their already fantastic desert selection. We found the Il Canto Del Sole a wonderful oasis of calm in what can be a hectic vacation schedule. Away from the noisy cars, motor bikes AND CHURCH BELLS, I would highly recommend this place. I feel so strongly about this place and these people that this is the first review I have ever written - the story needed to be told. With love from MN

There aren't enough nice words to say about Laura and Luciano. There house is beautiful and they open it up to you as it is your own. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. There are many places to relax (the terrace, patio, by the pool). The dinner that Laura and Luciano made for all of the guests that were there was probably the best that I had while in Italy. We had a great time with all of the guests that night. I would definately stay here again when visitng. The location is perfect, as it is close to Siena and we were able to make day trips to different cities with no problem. They offer a great variety for breakfast and you can help yourself to it all day.

Thanks again Laura and Luciano! We had such a great time at your bed and breakfast, it was the best part of our 4 city tour through Europe! You two have thought of every detail to make your guests trip easy and enjoyable, and truly have servants hearts! We will definitely be coming back if we are ever in Italy again! Thank you all so much, be blessed!

This B&B had great reviews on TripAdvisor so we decided to give it a try and we were happy we did. The website photos give a good depiction of this charming, rustic B&B surrounded with nice views of the rolling Tuscan countryside. It's easy to tour the Crete Senesi (amazing), southern part of Chianti trail, and hill towns like Volterrra, Montepulciano and San Gimignano. The B&B is about 15 mins from Siena. When you are not touring, there's s nice salt-water pool, play area (well away from rooms) for kids, plenty of areas to sit inside and out, & places to bike and walk. We liked to check out the rooster and hens, kitchen garden, and horses. The family that owns the B&B is lovely. Laura graciously took time to email to answer questions about wine tours in the area as well as detailed questions about the property. Luciano is very charming and recommended a terrific Crete Senesi drive. One night, we asked for glasses for a dessert wine bought at the winery and he rustled up some leftover dessert for us as well!!! The breakfast is great---gorgeous orange yolked eggs, fruit, meats, pastries, sweets, and more. The dining area is a nice umbrella covered open patio. On nights that Laura cooks, the patio is transformed by candlelight to something very special. The dinner is a treat starting with aperitifs on a rooftop deck. It's fun to chat with other travelers while sampling Luciano's homemade wine. The dinner is multi-course and Laura is an amazing cook. We are still raving about a zucchini custard like appetizer with tomato sauce and the array of desserts offered. They offer a really nice wine list at very good prices. All in all, a wonderful stay that we would definitely repeat. Ha soggiornato in Luglio 2012, viaggiato con la famiglia
